Spring ‘25 Solar Eclipse

The Solar Eclipse happens on a certain day, but it’s important to remember that the confluence of energies coming out of this cosmic event play out over the ensuing six months until the next eclipse season. Eclipses are a time for turning within, tuning into the cosmos within each of us in order to reset, align and gather the insights needed to adapt to these profound energetic shifts. Eclipses affect us all differently on the personal level, and carry a weighty significance for the collective. With all that in mind, let us consider what this solar eclipse has in store for us.

Sun, Moon, Venus (R), Mercury (R), Neptune and Rahu all meet in Pisces for the Solar Eclipse on March 29th at 3:57Am PST. Saturn joins the party in Pisces just a few hours after the eclipse and then will stay for 2.5 years ~ a big shift felt by all in some way depending on where Pisces and Saturn sit in one’s natal chart.

Whenever 6 of the 9 planets in our solar system cluster in one sign we can expect a climax of sorts to result, especially in the sign of Pisces, which among many things, represents the collective subconscious. That’s a lot of energy in one sign, particularly in one representing the deep, cosmic oceans.

As each planet represents an aspect of our consciousness, this cluster during the eclipse activates many layers of who we know ourselves to be. Furthermore, Venus and Mercury are both retrograde and eclipsed which means those aspects of our consciousness are going through a major reset, particularly if your rising or moon sign is ruled by either planet. Indeed not everyone will feel the intensity of this eclipse the same way. Mars isn’t involved this time so both Scorpio and Aries ascendant are less likely to be impacted, but Mars will debilitate in Cancer again on April 2nd, bringing levels of anger and frustration to the house where Cancer sits your birth chart and a temporary decrease in energy levels and possible mood swings for Mars ruled signs. One way or another, the Astrology for Spring ‘25 indicates major shifts and challenges, otherwise known as opportunities, for all.

An eclipse is like a “reset” ~ the Earth (body), the Moon (Mind) and the Sun (Soul) are in perfect alignment, but either Moon or Sun are eclipsed by one of the nodes ~ in this case Rahu eclipses the Sun. “Ra” - the rays of the Sun - are eclipsed by “hu” - the illusions of this world. Only this time Neptune, the planet of mass delusion on the lower level and transcendent levels of Spirituality on the higher level, is also part of the eclipse, which for some will bring more confusion into the mix, but also offers us a chance to experience revelation of that which has been concealed for far too long…

Purva & Uttara Bhadrapada Nakshatras

The eclipse takes place in the Bhadrapada Nakshatras, the symbol for which is the serpent of the deep seas, as well as the legs of a funeral cart. Pisces is all about reconnection with the Divine and expanding our consciousness, the transcendence of the material realm and the search for some kind of resolution to dualism and opposing values and opinions. Purva and Uttara Bhadrapada are literally the stars for death ~ both symbolic, as in death of the ego or the end of some major life commitment, or physical, as in dropping the body and / or the physical destruction that results from storms, earthquakes, volcanoes and the like. Given that the eclipse is happening in the sign of Pisces we can anticipate some intense water events in the next month, especially once Saturn arrives and conjoins Rahu in mid April ~ wind & water may be intense. Sidereal Fire rising signs Leo, Sagittarius and Aries should be particularly cautious around water during this time. In particular Leo, which is ruled by the Sun and eclipsed in Pisces, you are encouraged to avoid water travel and in general to exercise extra caution around water.

These transformative forces are calling upon all of us to draw our stability from our spiritual centre within, to connect with silence, soul and with this opportunity for Divine alignment and attunement. The truth is that for many the eclipse has very little impact. The more in alignment one is living in their life, the less impact an event designed to reset and realign us will naturally have. It’s not a judgment in any way. Ultimately, it is the Universe’s way of guiding us to align our dharma (higher purpose) and karma (action) to our soul’s unique evolutionary path ~ the path that is you, the path only you can live.

Eclipse Advice for ALL:

  • general feelings of fatigue & exhaustion ~ allow yourself extra rest, time in nature

  • meditation ~ going within is key to aligning with this amazing opportunity to tune in, spiritual practices are amplified in value

  • mantra ~ specific Navagraha mantra practices are greatly enhanced during this time ~ message me to find out which one would benefit you most

  • fasting ~ it is recommended not to eat several hours before the actual eclipse and throw out any cooked leftovers after the eclipse

  • cleansing ~ take a shower / bath following the eclipse

  • fire ceremonies ~ lighting a fire and burning any old letters or papers holding intense energy is useful for releasing the old

  • Do Not Sign Contracts ~ the very nature of an eclipse is that things are hidden from us; therefore, committing to any major life decisions, signing anything legal, investments, large purchases, making travel plans are not advised during and for about a week after the eclipse

Eclipses bring to the surface that which is hidden ~ from the deep subconscious of our mind and those things which have been hidden from us by others. We’ve just seen a huge release of JFK files and major discoveries in Egypt beneath the great pyramids ~ revelations such as these and more, are the kinds of paradigm shifting information that significant eclipses can reveal. It may be very personal as well, especially with Venus and Mercury Retrograde. Venus is all about our wealth, our relationships and creativity. Hidden truths about our partners, friends, coworkers may be revealed to us around this time, and / or we may discover that the way we are in relationships needs to change if we want to evolve the relationships we are in. Indeed, some relationships will end around this time, but as painful as it may be, the truth will always set us free.

Fears, Past Lives & Heart Intelligence

This eclipse is all about aligning our dharma (Jupiter which rules Pisces) and karma (Saturn). Things from our past in this life and others may be rising for healing, which means that fears we’ve held for a long time may suddenly be challenged as these typically represent the areas in our life where we need to grow and expand. The mind may rail against this and try to stop us from moving forward, but if we can tune into the heart, which is not polarized in its intelligence the way the mind is, we will know what to do. By bringing awareness within to our Spiritual Growth and connecting with Soul, we can avoid overthinking things and the anxiety which comes along with that.

Pisces is the sign of intuition and silence bringing us implicit insights and encouraging us to go beyond the known and LET GO. It seems important to remind ourselves that one cannot ever truly find the mind with the mind… but, by dropping into the heart and the intuition, one can transcend the endless chatter, doubt and fears of the mind and grow into a new way of being in the world, feeling more in tune, alive and inspired to move forward as we release the past, transmute shadows for integration and wholeness and surrender to the soul’s call that comes from silence.

There are certain events in life that change who we are and how we choose to move forward in life. The ending of something always feels particularly significant in the human mind for it signifies stepping into the unknown. In life there is death, both physical and symbolic. Relationships end, jobs end, material things decay and eventually dissolve. However, in life there is also birth, new beginnings, infinite things to learn, understanding to be found, healing to integrate and it all serves to make us more whole, but there are some events which appear to change everything we believed to be true and inspire us to ask ourselves, “who am I really and what am I doing here?”

Anyone who has lived long enough with awareness will know that control is an illusion. Falling in love seems as unpredictable as death, and no one can tell you really how these things will change you at your core, but it is this intense feeling we have around such events that lets us know, stepping through these doors, changes everything.

"With 36,000 days, why not spend a few in silence?”
~ Zen Master Shiwu

Ketu Brings Unpredictability

All planets in the eclipse directly aspect Ketu in Virgo from Pisces. This brings an intense level of unpredictability to the eclipse and the next couple of months until Ketu moves into Leo late May. There is no one, singular meaning to Ketu and therefore, this kind of alignment makes a lot of people nervous and prone to anticipating the “worst”, but it is important to remember that Ketu ultimately represents liberation. When we are living in alignment, there is absolutely no thought of fear. But, when we are living out of tune, we seem to fear what is next at every turn. A lie is like a loaded gun ~ you never know when it is going to go off and this is the energy of Ketu.

Even though Ketu represents sudden events, loss and destruction, as symbolized by the fact that Ketu is the body and tail of the serpent, a tail that whips unpredictably for it has no head, it is the alignment of Rahu and Ketu, Head and Body through Soul, that ultimately liberates us.

Ketu’s unpredictable nature exists to liberate us from our attachments, our desires, unconscious habits and self-destructive beliefs. Ketu’s tail whips in the form of natural disasters, death, sudden loss, incarceration, hospitalization, but also as awakening, epiphany, pilgrimage, retreat and self-realization. Such is the nature of life on Earth. Whether we like it or not, if we are not living in alignment with our dharma, the inherent intelligence of the Universe is such that certain events will be triggered to shake us up and ultimately realign us.

Even though Jupiter and Mars are not directly involved in the eclipse this March, they both aspect Ketu as well from their current positions, adding to Ketu’s influence during this April / May window of time. Simply put, it’s a big, BIG year that is the start of a new Astrological Age and Era on Earth. Humanity is evolving so rapidly now that having a Spiritual understanding of life is not really an option anymore. Vedic Astrology is a bridge for many to discovering this understanding of their true Self and higher purpose in life. This is a truly profound and opportune time to have a reading and deep dive into your natal chart, doing so not only helps one to avoid much disappointment and struggle, but can assist you in quantum leaping through change rather than struggling in confusion.

The Phoenix Rises

What does all this mean for you and me? For humanity? It means we are moving through a time of massive death and rebirth ~ individually and collectively, how we choose to live life here on Earth needs to change and the cosmos is lighting the match in the dark corners of our mind. The world we will inhabit in 2030 is going to look very much different than it does now as the speed of change accelerates every year. Consciousness is rising and more and more people are unwilling to accept the old ways of doing things because we know exactly where that old road takes us.

Poverty, war, greed and a level of corruption that has eaten away at the core of every major organization like a cancer that will not stop until it consumes its host, can no longer be ignored. Everyone knows it’s time for change, a revolution that starts within ~ with each of us finding our way back to soul and our higher purpose because we all know things can’t go on the way they have been. The delusion is real and it’s easy to get lost in it all, but as a great friend once said to me during one of my darkest days, “lost… is a great place to find yourself, otherwise you wouldn’t even be looking…”
