2025 Mid-Year Astrological Review

Solstice ~ Sun Stands Still

The Solstice ~ whether Summer or Winter for you ~ is a turning point in direction, it is the moment that the Sun “stands still” at its furthest point from the celestial equator and then, after pausing (from our perspective), changes direction back toward the equator. “Sol” = Sun and “stice” = comes from the root for stillness.

Here in the Northern hemisphere, where I currently am living, after this “longest day” of the year, daylight hours will now start decreasing again by several minutes per day until the Sun reaches its Southern most point furthest from the celestial equator marking another Solstice event.

I hope this June Solstice time offered you an opportunity to find some stillness in your life. To light a candle, meditate, pick up your journal and reflect on all that has come to pass already this monumental and pivotal year in the human journey. If you have not yet found the space to centre yourself in stillness, below you will find some divinely attuned questions that work well as writing prompts to help you turn within and tune into the Divine Cosmic Intelligence of your own heart’s wisdom. NOW, is always a good time to centre.

These Cosmic moments in time are ancient and eternal thresholds inviting us to tune in, to listen, to let go and release what no longer serves us so we can welcome the new with intention and self-awareness.

In case you missed the June Astrological Insights ~ here is the link!

For millennia, in all sacred traditions, the time around the Solstice marks a time to pause and reflect on what has come to pass during the Sun’s recent pilgrimage to its peak. It is a time to go within and observe how we have changed and evolved through challenge. What have we created? What have we learned? What things have we set into motion and what have we let go?

2025 Mid-Year Astrological Review

In the first six months of this calendar year we have seen major planetary shifts ~ all the giants have moved signs and the ripple effect of this has been palpable to anyone tuning in and evident in the collective for all to witness. Much of the activity so far this year has been concentrated in the Sidereal sign of Pisces ~ the sign of transcendence, letting go, spiritual growth, self-awareness and intuition. Pisces is the adaptable, flowy energy of water, but it’s important to remember that water also holds incredible depth, power and force. Water can be the trickle of a stream and it can be the crushing force of a tsunami… the depths of our individual and collective unconscious waters have been churned greatly in recent months ~ the effects of which we are only starting to see now..

  1. The first big energy we saw this year was Venus exalted in Pisces. Venus also retrograded, which is something that only happens every 18months. Venus stayed in Pisces until the end of May. Venus in Pisces brought up all kinds of awareness around our relationships, our heart’s truest desires and our mental, physical and spiritual health. It was a time for reflecting upon our significant relationships in life and inviting new perspectives and insights into our current relationships based on the things we have learned throughout time.

Relationships are a unique kind of pilgrimage that we take together with another soul. Our partners can be some of our greatest teachers in life, but it’s also important to remember that truly, we are in relationship ALL the time, in every way, with ALL aspects of life. As much as we are in relationship with our friends and family, we are in relationship with the trees, the bees, the flowers, the food we eat, the habits we hold onto, our breath, the Earth, all the elements, the planets, this cosmos and the multi-dimensional, layered and infinite Universe of which we are an expression and living experience. Ultimately, as individuated points of consciousness, often referred to as Soul, we are in relationship with Life, as Life living through us ~ with Spirit.

As with any relationship, if we are not growing and evolving within it, the energy stagnates and eventually becomes toxic. As challenging as these times on Earth may seem right now, perhaps another way of looking at the chaos is as a profound sign that it is time for humanity to start consciously evolving in our relationship to Life again. Perhaps it is time for humanity to wake up, grow up and start taking radical self-responsibility for the choices that have led us here… Perhaps what is at the root of all the outer conflict we see in the world today is a deep-seeded inner conflict and turmoil within humanity ~ the result of lifetimes of self-neglect and ignorance about our true nature as interconnected, interdependent, inter dimensional beings of eternal light.

What if humanity realized that harming another always harms the self? What if humanity realized that all there is, is the Self? The Cosmic Whole? The One? What if instead of trying to control the external circumstances and "people in our lives, we simply let go a little bit (or a lot) and focused instead within our own field of awareness… to heal and cultivate a greater sense of unity consciousness by elevating our own state through conscious, evolutionary choices?

Isn’t it time that we, as a humanity, took a quantum leap forward in consciousness? As within, so without.

  2. This year’s March Eclipse Season brought up big decisions and shifts for people that continue to play out over the months leading to the upcoming Fall Eclipse Season. We had a lunar eclipse in Leo which brought up awareness around how we choose to express ourselves in life. Are we speaking our truth? Are we being authentic? How can we be integrous leaders in our families, communities and the world? What do we, collectively, want to see in our world leaders? This Spring Eclipse season was all about consciously creating identity shifts within ~ what can we let go of? What masks can we take off that no longer serve us? Now is a good time to look back and ask yourself, what was I letting go of and how is that going?

Some of you may recall that Sun, Moon, Venus (R), Mercury (R), Neptune and Rahu all met in Pisces for the Solar Eclipse on March 29th ~ this vortex churned the great depths of our emotional waters ~ the unconscious and subconscious psyche and, the collective unconscious and subconscious were powerfully activated on multiple levels.

  3. Saturn moves into Sidereal Pisces. On the heels of the eclipse, one of the biggest transits this year was Saturn’s move into Pisces. Saturn only moves signs every 2.5 years, and depending on where Pisces sits in your Vedic birth chart, His move into this area of your life may have already started to strongly activate the areas related to this house. Saturn brings stability, discipline, stillness and generally slows things down for us, but while Saturn creates boundaries, Pisces seeks the boundless.

Certain challenges may arise as opportunities for deep spiritual growth, which Saturn invites us to face with grace in order to grow. While Saturn invites us to look deeply into the mirror, Pisces seeks ways to transcend and even escape from ordinary states of consciousness. Therefore, it is crucial we remind ourselves that any spiritual practices that offers us the opportunity to transcend ordinary states of consciousness are only useful and supportive when they make us more capable and stronger in everyday life.

Experiences of transcendence are only helpful when they allow us to be here now in a more aligned manner, when they give us a deeper capacity for compassion, a deeper sense of clarity, self-awareness and joy. As mature and responsible beings on an evolutionary path, we are not seeking to transcend as a form of escapism ~ we do not want to paint the world with “rainbows and unicorns” as a way of washing over and bypassing the pain that exists. What we seek is to subjectively experience and come to know the true power of unconditional LOVE that holds existence together beyond the veils so that when we cross the curtain back into ordinary states of consciousness, our understanding has expanded, matured and deepened. This is what gives us greater clarity, deeper understanding and insights into the true Divine Nature of this cosmic dance we commonly call “life”. This is what helps us to understand that while pain is inevitable, suffering is a choice. The more we experience authentic states of blissful unity within, the better we are able to face and handle pain when it inevitably crosses our path.

Saturn’s transit through Pisces is an invitation for all of us to practice the art of deep surrender to living in the liminal space of the unknown ~ to find ways to be open to the new and step forward with a brave heart and open mind for this is what will help us not to face challenge with grace and gratitude. Amidst the chaos, there is a simultaneous need for increased self-discipline in our spiritual practices and for fluidity, flexibility and flow over the next 2.5 years as we learn how to balance these two seemingly opposite energies. When we learn how to be simultaneously self-disciplined and also open to the flow and the new, we create the Divine opportunity for quantum leaps in our level of consciousness and thus, our experience of life. This indeed is the art of yogic awareness, simultaneously recognizing the value and importance of self-discipline, consistency and effort while also staying unattached to any outcome, free to flow and follow the signs as offered by Spirit along the way.

You may read about all 12 Signs and much more about Saturn’s transit through Pisces HERE.

  4. Sun was exalted in Aries mid April - mid May ~ this started the rise toward the intense Yang energy we are seeing now all over the world. The move, however, generally felt welcome after the heaviness of the deeply transformative and inwardly directed energies of February and March. Deep cosmic waters were warmed with the intense heat of fire and many of us felt our life force returning in powerful ways. It was as if things started moving forward again, which was a powerful energetic shift further enhanced by Mars’ move into Leo at the beginning of June.

  5. Jupiter moves into Sidereal Gemini. Jupiter’s annual move into a new sign this year brings an exciting and expansive energy into our forms of communication, connection, technology and business endeavours. You can read all about Jupiter’s transits this year in this extensive article detailing the general activations for all 12 signs. I highly recommend reading and rereading this analyses as this transit brings an array of opportunities for creating and manifestation in many important areas of our lives. Wherever Gemini sits in your birth chart is key to understanding the lessons of this year for you.

  6. Rahu & Ketu move into Sidereal Aquarius & Leo. Rahu and Ketu are the lunar nodes, the shadow aspects of cosmic light. They are represented by the (disconnected) head and tail of the dragon-serpent. Rahu and Ketu move signs every 18months, bringing new activations to different karmic aspects of our Soul’s eternal journey.

Rahu in Aquarius activates the rebellious, unconventional, freedom-loving, power of the people, revolutionary energy. Rahu ignites desire and seeks expansion in all ways. Rahu is the power of the winds of change that inevitably blow through our lives. Where Rahu sits in one’s birth chart speaks volumes about the kinds of karmas we are shedding in this lifetime, but Rahu is also the magician and the great master of delusion. It will be wise to be more cautious and aware of “scams” during these next 18months. Rahu reveals things that have been hidden, so we will be learning a lot about our governments, world leaders, celebrities and institutions that may be both shocking and awakening in its effect, but because Rahu also loves conspiracy theory, we may not really know what is actually true for a little while. The invitation here is of course to listen to your own heart and let it guide you along your highest path. Go within and tune into the stillness that the world so easily and frequently distracts us from, for it is there, in the lotus of the heart, in cosmic consciousness, where we will find the answers we seek.

Ketu in Leo is fiery and sparks a deeper awareness around leadership and ego. We may see some big shifts in world leaders during this time as the people demand change. The consciousness that seeks to go to war and dominate others is part of a dark age, a cycle we must stop repeating if we want to heal our relationships with all our relations. While the current energies in Leo (combined with everything else) has brought more conflict to the surface for the world, the invitation of Ketu in Leo over the next 18months is to strip the ego of its illusory attachment and identification with the material dimension of reality. Ketu’s tail can whip suddenly and without warning and right now it is heated by its conjunction with Mars, which is sadly reflected in the horrific violence erupting in several places. In the months to come I would not be surprised if we see several non-integrous leaders being knocked off their illusory thrones…

  7. Mars & Ketu Conjunct in Sidereal Leo. Mars completed its long transit through Cancer where it has been for several months in debilitation and also retrograde for a time. Mars and Ketu in Leo has a lot to do with the intense yang energy we are seeing the world right now ~ it is fire meets fire meets fire here and it is Ketu’s karmic potency that can unleash some of the lower aspects of Mars from within the collective unconscious, especially in a sign like Leo. As long as Mars and Ketu are conjunct here ~ peaking in July ~ the conflicts we are seeing the world may feel very intense. However, once Mars moves onto to Virgo around August, we can anticipate “some relief” and some levels of “common sense” returning.

However, let me just say that this June, July and August is not the time for taking unnecessary risks. Drive aware. Be present. Don’t engage if you don’t have to with heated persons. Take good care of yourself and find supportive ways for stabilizing your nervous system and releasing tension ~ dance it out, shake, take cold dips in oceans and rivers. Hug a tree and remind yourself that your own consciousness is a powerful wave in the collective ocean of consciousness.

How you are matters and has a ripple effect in the quantum field of reality.

If we allow what is happening “out there” to keep us in a constant state of stress, worry, anxiety and fear, then we are contributing to the chaos in unseen yet profound ways. I am not suggesting we “stick our heads in the sand”, but there is an invitation here to rise above the madness and become the source of a higher state of consciousness rippling into the field to help bring more peace and harmony into the collective.

“When everything around you seems dark, look again. Perhaps you are the light.” ~ RUMI
