Intense Gemini New Moon
Although I mentioned this New Moon in the June update, the present intensity of life called for further insights into what many are feeling right now…. often expressed as, “what is happening to the world?” Many people are afraid right now of what “could be” and the mind has a way of spiralling, quickly creating worst case scenarios, which given the current global climate, isn’t hard to do. Watching the news will take one to a place of dread and doom very quickly, but we really need to stop and ask ourselves how much information is too much for our system to handle? What can we effectively do with that information? Does it serve us? Are we taking time to observe our body and mind for signs of stress and overwhelm and are we giving ourselves a chance to decompress from it all? To rest and repair our nervous systems?
This is why I was called to record a guided Healing Nervous System Kriya Yoga set that you can do anytime from the comfort of your home whenever you want to replenish, rejuvenate and restore your own equilibrium. We may not be able to control what different psychopaths who call themselves “leaders” are doing “out there”, but we can control how we manage our own energy in response to it all. This is where our true power lies. Will we feed the frenzy and the furry, depleting our own life force in the process? Or, can we find a way to centre and ground ourselves so that when the opportunity arises to shine light into the world, we will be ready and available to hold space for those who need it?
NEW MOON ~ June 25
The New Moon is the start of a new cycle of energy that runs a course over the two weeks following it. This particular New Moon finds three sattvic planets ~ Sun, Moon & Jupiter ~ conjunct within 1 degree of each other in Gemini, in Ardra Nakshatra (star). Ardra is a rather intense Nakshatra represented by a tear drop and a fierce form of Shiva known as Rudra. Ardra is associated with pain, but it is the kind of pain we must walk through in order to truly transform into new versions of ourselves.
Intense yang energy has been on the rise within the collective over the past month and as the Moon joins Jupiter and the Sun in Gemini, this intensity increases ~ within and without. As Jupiter is combust by the Sun, our wisdom and clarity might be clouded and we may find ourselves a little confused about important decisions. A heated Mars with Ketu in Leo just three houses from the Moon may cause us to act impulsively or react more aggressively than necessary. The wise approach during the next 2-4 weeks is to hold off on big decisions, be mindful, cool off and proactively give yourself extra time to do things so you don’t get upset when things take longer than you anticipated.
As previously mentioned in other Light Letters leading up to this time, Mars and Ketu conjunct in Leo in lower states of consciousness can be the fiery, intense, war-like energy of conflict. When these two meet, particularly in a fire sign, there is often big conflict and undoubtedly there will be big consequences that arise out of it, but the wise one knows that ego-driven ambition, competition and dominance ultimately amount to victory for no one. Although this June, July (peak) and August present very intense, fierce and challenging energies for the collective as conflicts rise in many parts of the world, Mars will move on at the end of July and Ketu will remain in Leo (the sign of Royalty and world leaders) for another year, ensuring that many of those in seats of corrupt power are whipped off their pedestals by the force of his cosmic tail. Rahu’s recent move into Aquarius is stirring the people’s voice and, while it might seem frightening for many to think about, much of humanity is ready to take a stand against tyranny, against greed and against war. Enough is enough, but what is the best way to create peace?
Let us take this New Moon to remember that within each of us lies our connection to Soul, Source and Spirit. Within each of sits an immeasurable, infinite amount of life-force energy that we can all tap into through stillness. For “the Soul knows what the Universe knows” ~ deep within each of us is our very best resource for guidance and wisdom. The key is to unplug ourselves from the noise and tune into stillness, at least for a little while ~ every day... to give ourselves the opportunity to discover that “small keys open big doors” and all we have to do is choose to walk through.
Now is not the time to try and convince others of something they are not yet ready to see or understand. Misunderstanding and conflict can too easily arise. However, simultaneously, now is the time to be very mindful about where we place our attention. “Where attention goes, energy flows…”, which is another way of saying that we create reality with the power of minds. We can do this consciously, or we can do it unconsciously, but we are always, always doing it.
Our attention is one of the most valuable currencies we have to exchange with the world. As long as we are allowing our attention to be swept up by every headline and meme across the web, we really can’t even call it “ours” anymore because it is constantly distracted and hijacked by the noise, flowing in hundreds of directions at once.
We are all under Divine pressure right now to evolve and grow beyond the mayhem ~ to use our inherent power as Divine Creators of reality to focus our attention, our energy, our consciousness on creating a better, more harmonious, aligned, loving, generous and heart-centred world.
If you think I’m talking “rainbows & unicorns”, or suggesting we bury our heads in the sand and ignore the pain in the world, that is not what I’m saying. It’s doing the real, hard, deep work of facing our shadows and integrating them that will bring healing for humanity. Individually and collectively there exists immense layers of conditioning, programming and subconscious patterns, or in Sanskrit Samskaras, that unconsciously drive the majority of human behaviour. Suppressed and repressed trauma and emotion that when left to fester in the dark corners of consciousness end up making us sick. Anyone who chooses to aggressively attack another, who willfully chooses war, is, as my mom would say, “sick in the head”. And it’s true. Humanity’s crisis isn’t a material one, it’s a spiritual one. Our disconnection from Spirit and Soul, our disconnection from Nature, each other and the interconnected web of consciousness has allowed for an astonishing level of ignorance about the true, multi-dimensional nature of reality to persist through generations.
As Krishnamurti once brilliantly said, “to be well-adjusted to a sick society is no sign of health at all”. But isn’t that what we’ve all been trying to do for so long? Especially here in the West where we were raised being told what to do, how to dress, what to think, what to say and who to become… no one suggested we “go within” to discover our inner truth and live in alignment with Natural Law. Most of us were never told that we were enough and all deserved to live in joy, peace and harmony. Walk down the street smiling too much and people in Western cities are apt to think you’re “mad”. What to do?
If there’s one thing that history has taught us is that change is inevitable. Empires rise and empires fall. Astrologically speaking, we stand at the precipice of great change on Earth. We can stand here in great fear and trepidation of what that might look like, or we can look at it as a great opportunity and choose to evolve from within, to follow our unique Dharmic path and contribute to a brighter future, fully present in the now. The more distracted we become by things out of our own control, the more fragmented our energy is and it can be very hard to focus a scattered mind on anything at all.
A mind that is centred, aligned, clear and bright is a mind that can discover solutions that a stressed mind would never even see. If we want to evolve the world many of our children have become afraid of, we have to start by evolving ourselves ~ to stop playing the role we were taught we “should be” and start living as the authentic, embodied expression of who we know ourselves to be in truth. In other words, start shedding the layers of conditioned programming that told you who to be and start the practice of remembering who you are ~ this is how we take a quantum leap in consciousness.
As I’ve mentioned before, wherever Jupiter sits in your birth chart will reveal volumes for you about what this intense time of great change and challenge is really all about for you. To understand this year’s transits and how they relate to you birth chart is to gift yourself with several keys to big doors of opportunity.
Never forget that, “if everything around you seems dark, look again, you may be the light”. ~ Rumi.
Know that whatever challenges arise for you at this time, it is all happening to guide you towards greater clarity and insight, to discover what still holds the power to disturb your own inner peace and why… It just might be time to set a New Moon intention to trust yourself to know what serves you in the highest and follow that quiet little voice from deep within. But, don’t take my word for it. Try it for yourself and see what shifts for you… and, in doing so, know that you are contributing your attention, your awareness, and your energy toward something greater.
Within infinite blessings and prayers for peace,
