"If vibration can heal it can also harm." This thought came to me as I was falling asleep last night and it came through with a thundering clap. Everything is energy and thoughts become things.. thoughts are contagious - they float through the “air” between and around us - sending and receiving signals as human beings (antennaes) is what we do so well, even if we are unconscious of what we are doing most of the time. It’s time to reconceptualize the human being for we are not what we have been led to believe and finally, perhaps just in time, we are evolving again

Where does your mind exist? Have you ever wondered? Does it live inside your brain? Where do thoughts come from? Questions which few of us stop to ask ourselves for we are too busy being completely identified with the thinking mind, claiming every thought as our own, that we never stop to wonder... whose thoughts am I really thinking?

Humans like to say, “I think”, but do we really think much these days? Or are we simply parroting everything we hear, assuming it to be our own because we want to agree and belong? Are we programmed? Living a conditioned mind? Assuming thoughts, opinions and beliefs as our own along the way because that is what we have been taught to do? Because that is what maintains the status quo and therefore, create acceptance?

School is about “listening” after all.. it prepares us for “the real world” we are told, but does it? Does it teach us how to grow food and build shelter? Well that's unnecessary, you say because we have stores and builders. It's true, we do. But what if tomorrow you didn’t have those things? It’s possible and increasingly so.... Will you know where to find berries, mushrooms, medicine, water?

Supposedly we are born into a "modern world", but how modern can we be if we are still mostly busy “avoiding danger” and struggling for survival and basic needs. How evolved are we really if we are still destroying the environment which sustains us in order to have our material desires met? The challenge is that we are born into a psyche that has come to accept this way of life as “normal” - disease, war, famine.... these are not "normal", and yet, this is the “pool” of consciousness we are born into and therefore, rarely question as a result of assuming it’s inevitability by virtue of its existence.

Change we must if we are going to continue on as a species. Tho life itself will always continue (we would not be the first or the last species to go extinct on this planet or others), Spirit will always exist as the energy that fills all space and sustains all form, but will it continue to take on the form of human if we cannot manage our world? our behaviour? our thoughts?…

Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP)

Thoughts become things and as the endless studies in the fields of psychology have repeatedly revealed to us, thoughts create our reality. In the study, practice and therapeutic techniques of Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP), for example, we learn to become aware of our “self-talk” - the thoughts we think on autopilot and on repeat, often unconsciously. NLP studies deeply the connection between mind and body - just as yoga teaches - the body is always listening and through our highly advanced and evolved nervous system instantly sends and receives messages. If we are constantly thinking and sending the message to our body, for example, that we are “old”, the body will respond and essentially obey this message, aging itself at a rapid rate. Many diseases are recognized as psychosomatic (mindbody) - illness which is a direct result of a constantly stressed psyche.

NLP therapy reveals to us just how easily programmable the human mind is for when we start to pay attention - as in meditation and/or therapy - we begin to realize how many thoughts we think that are on repeat and that are negative. Where did these thoughts come from? Why do we believe them to be true? Could it be that a simple lack of awareness allowed us to adopt them as our own? Could it be that simply by not knowing we could choose our thoughts, that we spent a lifetime assuming these thoughts were not just our own, but who we are?

With NLP, as with yoga, we learn to recognize which thoughts are negative and damaging to our self and how to dis-identify with them. Liberating ourselves from these “demons” of the mind is a deprogramming, which then makes room for new thoughts, ideas and new programs - positive ones. creative versus destructive ones…  even, empowering ones.

Every thought carries (is) a vibration (a frequency) and the brain is a transmitter of frequency - constantly receiving and sending signals. We may not be able to avoid all signals broadcast in our reality but we can empower ourselves to become aware and change what kinds of frequencies and messages to which we subject our consciousness.

If we daily tune into the news, for example, we are inevitably submitting our minds to a host of negative, fear-based programming. It is common knowledge that the news is really just bad news - “if it bleeds, it leads” and people are programmed to believe that if they “miss the news” that they will miss something “important”. However, upon trial, what most discover is that not only do they not miss it, but that they don’t need it and more importantly, start to feel much better.

It’s not about being ignorant or oblivious to the world - quite the opposite actually. It’s about taking responsibility for the quality and the frequency of the vibrations you are receiving and transmitting out into the world. It's about taking care of your mind, cultivating your consciousness to grow the positive because as each and every one of us makes these simple changes, the world we inhabit begins to change. As our minds are given the space to breathe, to become self-aware, to realize that the vibrations we are experiencing and transmitting via media such as the news are perpetuating fear-based, catastrophic thinking, we may then choose to change them. We have the power and the right to choose new thoughts and evolve.

In his interpretation of the Bhagavad Gita, the renowned and revered Paramahansa Yogananda explains the following: “Consciousness is imaginative, sensitive, and pliable; it can think and dream itself into any state.” I:24

Thoughts are contagious and transmit through the “air” no differently than wifi or radio waves. Yogic science teaches us that just like the wifi routers which pick up the electromagnetic frequencies (EMF) of energy, our brains are the super computer antenaaes that interpret the world via our senses and also pick up the frequencies of thoughts just like wifi. Our minds then run the software of the programs received; therefore, if we are not self aware of what programs we are running, we are not in control of the lives we are living and commonly desperate to understand “how we got here”..

To evolve the world we live in we must evolve ourselves first and that starts with the thoughts we choose to think and therefore, we must first recognize that just like the food we choose to eat, thoughts are things we choose to think. and that the only way to “save the world” from all its “misery” is not to repeatedly talk about negative things we hear in the news, or social media for example, but to talk about what is possible, how to change and evolve and then embody that change in our daily lives as best we can.

Everyone has a different and unique offering and most have many ways of contributing to a new world. Kriya is a yogic term for "evolutionary action" and it begins with reconnecting the mind and the body with our breath and self-awarenss to that before we decide to "save the world", we understand and embody the vital importance of saving ourselves first. As humanity’s consciousness rises one by one, the whole world is shifting and it’s all happening within our minds and right before our eyes.

REPROGRAMMING YOUR MIND

Ask yourself this, if the mind creates reality and is easily programmed, then who is programming it to create your reality? What if you could become the witness to your own mind and therefore, give yourself the power to reprogram and recreate your life? It might seem like hard work at first, but isn’t it exciting to contemplate? Just thinking about it gives most of us the chills because the body and our intuition are resonating with the truth inherent in this divine knowledge that has been carried forward for thousands and thousands of years by the yogis, sages and saints: “know thy self”, “know your mind” … know that which you are creating is a reflection of you and you will know how to make it yours again... and then, you will know how to make it great, beautiful, abundant and a joy to live.

This is why we meditate every day and why it is suggested that we start and end our days with it - in the morning to tune into Spirit and allow ourselves to raise our frequency before entering the world so that what we are both transmitting and calling towards us is of a higher vibration. And in the evening, to review and clear our minds from any negative or undesirable thoughts we have picked up throughout the day. Each time we do it we deepen our awareness and understanding of how this mind and these cycles of thought work. Each time we meditate we evolve, even and especially when we don’t feel like we are.. it serves us well.

This is also where talk therapy comes in and can be tremendously powerful in helping one to identify the self-talk and the various thought patterns that are holding us back, making us sick, depressed etc..  It can be challenging, especially at first, to see ourselves and become the witness. It takes practice and guidance is important.

This also where self-care rituals and creative practices such as journaling, painting, or anything that takes us out of the all consuming rational mind and allows for that fluidity of energy and intuition to enter our space can be tremendously healing. This is how we gather insights into ourselves - simply, by finding ways to go within. "For those who go within, awaken and those go without, dream". And an awakened humanity is what we need right now if we are going to wake up from this nightmare we have been collectively dreaming. The one that says, “we’re fucked” because the irony of this statement is that it’s only true if we let it be true. It’s only true if we agree. It’s only true if we continue to beat the drum of fear and helplessness rather than taking responsibility for our own healing and evolution, which, let’s face it, takes courage. It takes maturity. It takes a level of consciousness that can recognize simultaneous truths may co-exist in relative reality and therefore be able to acknowledge that though the planet is in dire straights, it can all change if we choose.

WHERE ATTENTION GOES, ENERGY FLOWS

It takes a brave heart, a strong spine and the discipline to overcome the obstacles of the conditioned mind to see how one awakened human being creates a profoud and positive ripple effect throughout the world. It takes consciously choosing to raise our vibrations with practice, love and compassion for ourselves and others, releasing all judgment and instead lovingly focusing on ourselves so that our lives become the examples and the proof of a different choice. The choice to think differently, vibrate higher, and tune into the frequencies that support and nurture life on Earth, rather than destroy it, for that which we give attention to, inevitably grows. Therefore, let us choose to live with awareness and take responsibility for the thoughts we think. Let us contemplate deeply and meditate frequently so that the vibrations we carry will heal more and harm less. Let us choose to heal, which, after all, is the choice to evolve.

much love.
