my Super YUMMY green Juice

 My Super Yummy Green Juice... 

• one head of Kale (or Spinach)

• one head of Romaine

• one - three stalks of Celery

• one Cucumber

• one Lemon or Lime

• one Kiwi

• one to two knobs of Ginger  

This will make one big juice or two smaller ones so you can half in the morning and half in the afternoon for a pick-me-up if you prefer. 

This right here is my “every day” SUPER-JUICE .. because it's so simple, delicious and before 9am - I have already fed my body on a cellular level a TON of micronutrients including Vitamin C, A, E, K, Thiamin, Niacin, Riboflavin, B6, Folate, Calcium, Iron, Magnesium, Phosphorous, Potassium and Zinc!

It’s super energizing and gets all the right parts moving so that you are left feeling clear and charged for whatever comes next!

What does that mean? It means the cucumber and lemon are alkalizing and cleansing my body, the kale is filled with sulphur that detoxifies my body + liver, the celery helps replenish good bacteria in my gut so I can digest better the rest of the day, the kiwi contains actinidain, a protein dissolving enzyme for improved digestion + has more Vit C than an orange which is great for weight loss, the ginger is wonderful anti-inflammatory and the romaine provides tons of folate which is good for my heart + mood ... the benefits of juicing are endless and each of these ingredients have many more attributes that are too long to list in one post! 

One of my favorite resources is the Juicing Calculator. Although you can't really get it wrong when it comes to juicing fresh fruits and vegetables, this can help you figure out how to amp up on certain nutrients that you may be lacking. It's a great resource but know this, by juicing every day as a supplement to a healthy diet you are undoubtedly supercharging your body, mind and spirit. Within 15 minutes or less of drinking a fresh juice on an empty stomach, your body has been fueled on a cellular level, your blood has started to cleanse and you will begin to feel more energy. The nutrients you are consuming in a fresh juice do not require your body to break anything down in order to digest it so the results are almost instantaneous. And the better you feel, the better you feel..

In 2017 I got this recipe for my morning super-juice from Kris Carr - a New York Times best-selling Author who has been living with cancer for over ten years now. She was diagnosed at 31 and was given only months to live. She didn't accept this fate and took her health journey into her own hands. She's not only alive but thriving. She has been such an inspiration to me. As someone who had felt my health declining over several years and not really understanding why, I too decided to take back control by listening to my body and found much inspiration in stories like Kris' and others. 

Juicing was one of many steps that awakened me to what health really means and feels like again. When we are young we don't usually know what it means to feel unhealthy. Our bodies are so amazing and brilliantly designed that they can bounce back from anything and I was the girl who could stay out all night and then was up again at sunrise to “conquer the world” (again).

It wasn't until I hit a wall during my divorce, after several years of chronic stress that my body stopped bouncing at all. When getting out of bed seemed like climbing a mountain and carrying around a sick feeling in my body everyday became "the norm", I started digging and prayed for guidance to help me figure this out. I decided that I was not going to live the rest of my life feeling like shit. I knew my body, mind and my soul had so much more to give. This daily juice has literally put me in touch with my body by giving myself the experience of feeling alive again.

There is an energy and cellular connection between the body and live foods that cannot be put into words. You just gotta try it and let it show you how when you give your body the nutrients it really needs and wants with a whole-foods, plant-based diet, it will not only begin to bounce again, but it will respond with an eagerness to HEAL that most of us have never experienced before. And you don't have to change everything at once. I started supplementing my diet with this one juice recipe and the benefits were immediately noticeable without changing anything else. However, as you begin to feel better and notice your body's response to the nutrition, other changes naturally and spontaneously occur.
